Andrea Rodgers works in Business Development with Mervis Diamond Importers. Before that, she was with PeopleSoft in their Public Services Division for five years.

Andrea first became involved in charitable work and event planning after 9/11 when she wanted to give back to the community. Through DC Cares, she started volunteering with Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Washington Home & Hospice, and Inner City Outings, which The Courage Cup now supports.

She has also served her alma maters, serving as Co-President of Wake Forest University's DC Alumni chapter from 2002 — 2004, and serving on Salem Academy's Alumni Board from 2004 — 2006. She is also supportive of the arts in Washington, serving as Chair of the Steering Committee for The Corcoran Gallery of Art's 1869 Society for 2 years, and hosting NSOvation's Quartet Under the Stars at The Kennedy Center.

In addition to serving existing charities, Andrea has used her creativity to create several annual fundraisers. In 2005, she and two other ladies initiated the Blondes vs. Brunettes Powder Puff Football Game (www.blondesvsbrunettes.com), which benefits The Alzheimer's Association. This event has been added to the Alzheimer's Association's annual events, and the concept is being duplicated in several other major cities to raise money and to bring more Alzheimer's awareness to young people. This event has raised almost $100,000 since its inception.

In March 2006, Andrea and two other board members created The Courage Cup Corporation, which received 501(c) (3) status. The Courage Cup, a 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation which was established to help at-risk urban youth. They support programs in the mid-Atlantic region which give disadvantaged children individualized attention and a positive alternative activity to keep them in school and off the streets. Andrea took over as President and Chairman of The Courage Cup in September of 2006, and presented Work to Ride with an $8000.00 donation at The Washington International Horse Show at The Verizon Center on October 27, 2006. In 2007, The Courage Cup raised close to $75,000.

In October of 2006, Andrea reached out to The Washington Humane Society with her concept for a fashion show fundraiser featuring both fashion for dogs and their owners. Andrea chaired The 1st annual Fashion for Paws which was held on Saturday, April 14, 2007 at the French Embassy and featured 40 prominent men and women from the Greater DC area who competed via fundraising for the title of "Model Washingtonian of the Year". This event raised $60,000 for the Washington Humane Society. The 2nd Annual Fashion for Paws event will take place at the Italian Embassy on April 12th, 2008.

In 2008, Andrea is helping to host Oscar Night DC on February 24th, 2008 which will benefit The American Red Cross of the National Capital Area.
